Magnolia erased a 20-point deficit to steal Game 1 away from San Miguel Beer, scoring a wild 105-103 decision Friday at the Big Dome. Bullied for three quarters, the Hotshots mounted a huge rally in the fourth to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 titular showdown.

In the final play of the game, Rafi Reavis ended up blocking Arwind Santos’ game-tying jumper and Magnolia walked away with the victory. But before Reavis’ defensive brilliance, it was Ian Sangalang that starred for the Hotshots. Sangalang scored the team’s last four points, including two crucial free throws with 16 seconds to go to break a 103-all tie.
