McGregor said:
Conor McGregor famously announced he didn’t come to the UFC to take part, he came to take over. After crushing Eddie Alvarez to win his second belt in two weight classes, it appears the takeover is in full effect.

The lightweight title bout was the main event of the UFC 205 event at Madison Square Garden in New York. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) took the fight over from the opening moments, smacking Alvarez (28-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) with clean punches and scoring multiple knockdowns in the opening round. Whenever Alvarez appeared to get any degree of comfort, McGregor blasted him again.
