Rain or Shine took advantage of NLEX’s lethargic play early, zooming to a 30-12 cushion in the first quarter after a blistering 25-3 attack against the Road Warriors.

The Elasto Painters widened the gap to as much as 21 points, 48-27, after a Mav Ahanmisi basket.

NLEX was able to trim its deficit to just 10, 52-42, at the half after its outside shooting finally clicked.

The Road Warriors since then slowly shaved Rain or Shine’s huge lead. They finally tied it at 69-all after a Villanueva layup late in the third frame.

Rain or Shine still took a 75-71 lead entering the final frame but it was NLEX which had the energy in the fourth quarter. A Walker jumper finally gave the Road Warriors their first taste of the lead, 83-81.

Anthony then had a couple of hustle plays, scoring energizing putbacks and drawing fouls from Rain or Shine. NLEX took a 94-88 lead with 4:30 left.

The Road Warriors then made sure that the result would be out of reach. Walker drained a booming corner trey, while Villanueva scored a crucial layup and set of free throws that gave them a commanding 101-92 edge with just 2:38 left.

Back-to-back triples by Lanete in the last two minutes sealed NLEX’s comeback victory.

Paul Lee came up with 23 points to lead the way for Rain or Shine.
