It hardly mattered.
Crawford was simply too fast, precise and good for Molina (29-7, 23 KO) who followed him around the ring all night trying to get lucky by landing one big shot that could end the fight.
It never came and he wound up getting shredded with pinpoint punches before the referee rightly stopped the fight with him in the corner absorbing a beating.
Beltran (32-7-1, 20 KO) was dominated by Crawford in his last appearance in Nebraska and needed a big performance to revitalize his career. He got that and more, pounding his foe to the body relentlessly to zap his power and set up the big knockout.

ROUND BY ROUND
TERENCE CRAWFORD vs JOHN MOLINA
Round 1: Crawford in the southpaw stance now as Molina follows him around the ring without the ability to land very much from his current distance. Very hard to follow a guy who is this much quicker than you. Bud makes him pay with a huge body shot.
Round 2: Crawford shredding Molina through the first four minutes of this contest. He’s on the target and forcing his man to chase while getting nothing in return beyond punches upside his head.
Round 3: Molina extremely wild. He’s trying to make something happen. It’s just not there yet.
Round 4: Molina swinging from his shoelaces on every single shot. The problem is he’s eating four or five shots per attempt.
Round 5: Really not a whole lot here for Molina beyond the chance to land a home-run shot. Crawford in complete control with his boxing and precision. Speed and technique are killers for Molina tonight.
Round 6: Molina keeps trying, but he’s eating a lot of powerful, precise punches. He’s done a lot of that in his career.
Round 7: Molina’s strategy of just walking in with his hands down around his waist and taking big punches isn’t really working very well.
Round 8: The ring doctor checked on Molina between rounds. His corner was emphatic about the desire to continue. He’s never seemed hurt, but he’s gotten hit plenty and that’s been the story of his career.
Crawford gets Molina into the corner and unleashes hell.
The referee with the totally right call to jump in and stop it.
Crawford gets the TKO victory.
