Prince William and Catherine's 2

Prince William and Catherine’s favorite Christmas dessert

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to attend Christmas lunch, along with Prince George and little Princess Charlotte, with the Queen at Sandringham House this year.

And along with the traditional Norfolk turkey with all the trimmings, no doubt the young couple will be looking for some of their favorite desserts.

Duchess Catherine’s preferred dish is reportedly ‘Queen of Puddings’, a choice fit even for the Queen herself.

Prince William will be hoping his favorite dish – much-loved school-time dessert, Eton Mess (recipe here)- will also be appearing on the menu.

One thing that is sure to be served up on December 25th, though, is the traditional figgy pudding, no doubt dished up with lashings of brandy butter.

Last year, the Duke and Duchess hosted Christmas lunch at Anmer Hall, their newly-renovated Norfolk residence, which was gifted to William by the Queen for his 30th birthday.

There, Duchess Catherine’s family joined them for the festivities, with siblings Pippa and James reportedly taking over the cooking duties.

James founded his own confectionery company in 2014, and is apparently quite the baker.

The dessert menu last year included more English favorites: Cabinet pudding, made from a combination of sponge cake and dried fruits, and Monmouth pudding, a concoction of raspberries, lemons and white breadcrumbs.
