Latino fighters confident heading into Pinoy Pride 33

Latino fighters confident heading into Pinoy Pride 33, While the ALA boxers are preparing for the biggest fights of their careers this weekend at Pinoy Pride 33, their opponents are not letting themselves be outdone.

In a report by Dyan Castillejo of ABS-CBN News, the Latino fighters are confident with their chances heading into the fight. Mexico’s Juan “Pinky” Alejo says while he has a lot of respect for Donnie Nietes, he believes he has done enough in training to emerge victorious.

“Really happy about this fight,” Alejo said, speaking through a translator. “I consider my opponent as one of the best in the weight division, but I am prepared to win.”

For Nicaraguan William Gonzalez, who will be fighting “Prince” Albert Pagara for the WBO International Jr. featherweight title, a knockout victory is the main goal.

“I am not afraid of anyone. I am here to fight any fighter in the ring, and I am ready for a knockout [win].”

Nicaragua’s Santos Benavidez will be facing Jayson Pagara in a 10-round non-title fight. And for him, “El Niño” is merely a stepping stone to his ultimate objective of grabbing a world title.

“It’s important he’s one of the top fighters right now. It would be great for me, that’s one more step to get a world championship title.”
