Bible verse about, Gospel of our blessed Lord God, Christ Jesus/Isah/Yeshua on tradition or your faith.
Matthew 15:3 | Tradition and Worship
1, Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked,
2, “Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They do not wash their hands when they eat.”
3, Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
4, For God said: ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’
5, But you say that if anyone says to his father or mother, ‘The help you would have received from me has been given to God,’”
6, he need not honor his father or mother with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
2 Timothy 4:1 | “Preach the Word”
1, I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom:
2, preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
3, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,
4, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
5, But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
6, For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.
7, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;
8, in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
2 Thessalonians 2:15 | Stand Firm | The Man of Lawlessness
10, and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them.
11, For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie,
12, in order that judgment will come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.
13, But we should always thank God for you, brothers who are loved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning to be saved by the sanctification of the Spirit and by faith in the truth.
14, To this He called you through our gospel, so that you may share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15, Therefore, brothers, stand firm and cling to the traditions we taught you, whether by speech or by letter.
16, Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God our Father, who by grace has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope,
17, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good word and deed.
1 Corinthians 11:2 | Roles in Worship |
1, You are to imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.
2, Now I commend you for remembering me in everything and for maintaining the traditions, just as I passed them on to you.
3, But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
4, Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.
5, And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for it is just as if her head were shaved.
6, If a woman does not cover her head, let her hair be cut off. And if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.
7, A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.
8, For man did not come from woman, but woman from man.
9, Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.
Mark 7:3-9 |
3, (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they carefully wash their hands, thus observing the traditions of the elders;
4, and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they cleanse themselves; and there are many other things which they have received in order to observe, such as the washing of cups and pitchers and copper pots.)
5, The Pharisees and the scribes asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with impure hands?”
6, And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:
‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS,
BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.
7‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME,
TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.’
8, “Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.”
9, He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.
Luke 6:1-11 | Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath
1, Now it happened that He was passing through some grainfields on a Sabbath; and His disciples were picking the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating the grain.
2, But some of the Pharisees said, “Why do you do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”
3, And Jesus answering them said, “Have you not even read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him,
4, how he entered the house of God, and took and ate the consecrated bread which is not lawful for any to eat except the priests alone, and gave it to his companions?”
5, And He was saying to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
John 6:50 | The Bread of Life
48, “I am the bread of life. 49“Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.
50, “This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die.
51, “I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.”
52, Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”
53, So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.
54, “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
55, “For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.
56, “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.
57, “As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me.
58, “This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.”
1 Timothy 1:1 | Misleadings in Doctrine and Living
1, Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and of Christ Jesus, who is our hope,
2, To Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3, As I urged you upon my departure for Macedonia, remain on at Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines,
4, nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith.
5, But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
6, For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion,
7, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.
