Rain or Shine scores big upset to extend series vs Gin Kings Ginebra

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters breezed final score 102-89  through their quarterfinal matchup against Barangay Ginebra after a 102-87 victory in Game Two of their Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinal series on Tuesday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

That completed a two-game sweep of their best-of-three playoff series with the Elasto Painters now awaiting the winner of San Miguel-Star series.

Jeff Chan scored 22 points – including four three-pointers – while JR Quinahan added 21 to pace Rain or Shine. Rookie Maverick Ahanmisi chipped in with 13 points, all of them in the second half.

Rain or Shine import Pierre Henderson-Niles, meanwhile, had a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Othyu Jeffers led Ginebra with 27 points, 14 rebounds and six assists while Greg Slaughter and Japeth Aguilar each had 14 points and eight boards in the defeat.

The Elasto Painters won Game One, 88-84.
